What this tool can and cannot do
It helps you locate trustworthy information, not determine regulatory compliance. Requirements may depend on job duties, location, employer rules, licensing authorities, and additional practical training. Verify what your employer or regulator requires before purchasing any course.

Why the course title is not enough
Training that sounds similar can serve entirely different purposes. HAZWOPER concerns covered hazardous-waste operations and some emergency-response duties, while DOT hazmat employee training concerns safe transportation. CDL hazardous-materials endorsement training is yet another process with federal and state requirements.
Three things to check after using the finder
- Who requires it? An employer, regulator, licensing authority, contractor, or customer may each specify something different.
- What is delivered? A class, a completion record, a card, an exam, or supervised practical instruction?
- Who issues the credential? Verify official provider registration or an accepted certifying organization where applicable.
Employers can work through our 16-point purchasing checklist. If you prefer to compare published course options, start with our 40-hour HAZWOPER course comparison, which is based on public product information rather than affiliate approvals.
