This Privacy Policy explains how FindMyCert (the “Site,” “we,” or “us”) handles information when you browse findmycert.com or contact us. FindMyCert is an independent training research and comparison website. We do not operate a course checkout or issue training credentials.
1. Information we receive
Information you choose to send. If you email us, we receive your email address, your message, and any other information you include. We currently offer email contact rather than a public contact form.
Website and usage data. Our website hosting and security services may process technical details such as IP address, browser and device characteristics, requested pages, referring pages, dates and times, and error or security logs. Google Analytics 4, connected through Google Site Kit, may measure page views, traffic sources, engagement, and related website interactions using cookies or similar technologies, subject to browser settings and any applicable consent choices.
2. How we use information
- Respond to questions, corrections, and provider inquiries.
- Operate, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the website.
- Understand which training subjects and pages people use so we can improve the directory.
- Assess website traffic and outbound referrals to training providers, when such tracking is enabled.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations and address misuse or security incidents.
3. Analytics and cookies
We use Google Site Kit and Google Analytics 4. Google Analytics may set cookies or use other identifiers to help us understand how visitors use the Site. Google provides information about how it uses information from sites that use its services. You can restrict or delete cookies in your browser and use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on where supported. Browser controls may affect some website functions.
Our use of analytics and cookies may change as the site develops. If we add a consent-management tool or new tracking services, we will update this policy and apply any consent requirements that apply.
Training finder interactions. If you use our guided training selector while Google Analytics is enabled, we may measure the category and task selected and clicks from its results to our guides. We do not ask the selector for your name or email address. Analytics may associate these interaction events with device or session identifiers under the applicable Google Analytics settings and privacy choices.
4. Affiliate links and third-party websites
Some future provider links may be affiliate links. Clicking one may take you to a separate training company’s website, where that company can collect information under its own privacy policy. Affiliate networks or providers may use referral parameters, cookies, or other methods to attribute purchases. We do not receive your payment-card information from provider checkouts. 5. Email and service providers
Our contact address is handled through Google Workspace and Google Groups. When you email us, Google processes the message so it can be delivered to our inbox. Other vendors, such as website hosting, security, and analytics services, may process information on our behalf to provide their services. These providers have their own security and privacy practices.
Embedded photographs. Some editorial photographs on FindMyCert are delivered directly from Unsplash’s image CDN rather than our hosting server. When your browser loads them, Unsplash may receive standard technical request information such as your IP address, browser details, and the referring page. 6. Sharing and sale of personal information
We do not sell the personal information you send us by email to data brokers. We may share information with service providers needed to run the Site, when legally required, or to protect the security and rights of users and the Site. Referral and analytics technologies can involve data disclosures or tracking governed by applicable privacy laws, so please review your choices and the policies of the services linked above.
7. Data retention and security
We retain correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain records, resolve disputes, or meet legal requirements. Analytics and operational logs are retained according to the settings and policies of the relevant services. We take reasonable steps to protect the information we handle, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
8. Your privacy choices
You can ask us about information you sent us, request a correction or deletion where applicable, or raise a privacy concern by emailing hello@findmycert.com. Your rights may differ depending on where you live. We may need to confirm your identity or retain certain records where required or permitted by law.
9. Children
FindMyCert is intended for people researching job-related and professional training. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly request personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us.
10. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy as our services, course partnerships, or privacy practices evolve. The date at the top indicates the most recent version. Please check this page for updates.
